So it's a New Year (decade) and all that shit blah blah blah so to "celebrate" we've put more work on our poor little plates and created a new Monday morning post theme, The Fashion Feast. Using the energy of our brains fused with the interlocking cables and hard drives that power the Interweb we're selecting for you, dear reader, the highlights in men's fashion over the past week, every week, on this day. Enjoy!
Rodarte @ Opening Ceremony = Extreme Poverty to Ensue
The lovely team behind Rodarte (they recently did a women's collection for Target) have shipped some fierce jumpers over to the crew at Opening Ceremony. What do you think? This is the kind of thing that I get caught on door handles or am never sure how to wash and the garment ultimately ends up smelling like beer and sin. So for 2,760 USD I'm gonna have to skip past go and not collect $200. Moreover, our friends at Fashion Indie reckon this is all a rip off from the Junya Wantanabe crew. As I can't pronounce "Rodarte" or "Junya Wantanabe" I'll leave my opinion out for now.
Love you fashion. You always inspire and challenge. Is it just me or are Givenchy (another one I can't pronounce) totally giving a big fat nod in the direction of Op Art? If you look at their Spring Summer 2010 campaign images for too long you start to see the future (and your head slowly becomes numb). I wanna get me some of those leggings all the same.
Fill in the Blank
Love crushing this shirt from Topman LTD. I'm assuming the "limited" implies there aren't many in stock so you better get your hands on this shirt quick sticks. I suggest decorating the white square to match your unique and individual personality. I'd fill mine with a self portrait, all moody like and contemplative via Chuck Close.
Not that I look anything like him but hey, what can you do? And that's not a photo y'all. Mr Close painted that! Get yourself an education in 20th century art and stop asking me questions.
Hope the first issue of The Fashion Feast was everything you hoped and dreamed of.
