The Fashion Feast

1.
To escape Melbourne's ever escalating heat Comeback Kid hit the galleries yesterday arvo to check out the latest fashion exhibitions on offer. First up was Drape: Classic Mode to Contemporary Dress which, as it's title suggests, looks at drape and drapery throughout the centuries. Seriously y'all, things have advanced since the Ancient Greeks were getting all creative with sheets and vines. The clothes are breathtaking and it's always so interesting to see pieces that have survived longer than your grandparents.

2.
After a quick walk over the river and a 5 minute rest in the atrium we moved onto Together Alone: Australian & New Zealand Fashion, which featured (you guessed it) clothing from our island and their island. Some Comeback Kid favourites were dropped in for good measure including Nom*D and Romance Was Born who always get our "oohs" and "ahhs" going. Keen to support the locals we fantasised about stealing a few pieces, leaping onto a tram and skipping off into the sunset dressed to impressed. Sigh. Instead we stared longingly at our favourite garments and contemplated terrible DIY rip offs and our inability to save up for anything.

3.
Today's Comeback Kid Love Crush item is this jacket from the beautifully beige folks over at Burberry. Teaming up with Collette they've created a trench (for women, sorry boys) with this cheekily studded collar.

Yours,
Comeback Kid
