Stats never lie. 2059 of our total 4711 songs have never been played, that's just under half. 820 songs have only been played once. We're in the habit of making play lists here, which often results in the full albums being left to the side for some time. We Are The People, sitting proudly at No. 1 hasn't been played since the 10th of November - so is it the play list we've been recently ignoring or the album?
And does that make Empire of the Sun, Walking on a Dream our favourite album for 2009? Probably not. And is We Are the People our favourite song? Statistically it is. So does this mean when we vote for the Hottest 100 our results are already organised for us? Assuming our top 10 tracks were all released in the last year then I guess our work is done!
Though of course it's never this easy. We'll let you know our votes once they're in. And apologies to Empire of the Sun if you don't cut the mustard - statistically you always will!
